National Night Out Against Crime

On Tuesday, August 2, the 100 and 101 Precinct Community Councils will celebrate “National Night Out Against Crime” in two locations in the Rockaways.

The 100 Precinct’s annual event starts at noon with the painting of the Beach 117 Street Lifeguard shack, hosted by the Rockaway Artists Alliance. Indaculture will perform live music there.

Beginning at 5 p.m. at the Beach Club, free fingerprinting for children will be done by members of the 100 Precinct, as well as bicycle ID etching by Crime Prevention Officers.

`The festivities continue into the evening with live performances, a DJ and a 9 p.m. fireworks display from Beach 116 Street.

The 101 Precinct is hosting the event in O’Donohue Park on Seagirt Boulevard starting at 2 p.m. with games, rides and entertainment for the whole family.

Both precincts welcome everyone in the community for a fun-filled day.
