Cops ‘Net’ Chat Room Predator
By Brian Magoolaghan

Local police busted a 24-year-old Nassau County man who arranged an illicit rendezvous with an underage Rockaway girl that he met in an Internet chat room, law enforcement sources said.

The man allegedly picked up the girl, 14, in Rockaway on July 15 and brought her in his car to an undisclosed location in Nassau where the two had sexual contact, sources told The Wave.

The girl told her parents she was going to a friend’s house, but the friend became worried and told the girl’s parents about the secret meeting. The girl’s parents then called the 100 Precinct to report their daughter missing.

The friend called the girl on her cell phone and spoke to her for a few minutes, She then relayed to police detetives information about where the man would be dropping off the girl. Police staked out the area – looking for his black car – and arrested the man, Hernando Calle, near 105-00 Shore Front Parkway.

The girl later told police that she and Calle had reciprocated oral sex, sources said. Her name is being withheld due to her age and the nature of the alleged incident. The Wave is also withholding the names of her parents to protect girl’s identity.

Calle was brought back to Nassau where he was charged with second-degree rape and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual act, according to Katie Grilli-Robles, spokesperson for Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon. Bail was set at $65,000, and Calle is due back in court on August 24, Grill-Robles said. He faces up to seven years in prison.
