The sample appears to be a handout or a postcard proof or a piece of printers waste; as there are many stains around all edges. The back of the card has penciled message indicating that whoever sent the unposted message (in an envelope) was located in Cleveland, Ohio. Nothing was printed on the face or back. However, the water oriented amusement area or park has a shoot the chutes ride (foreground) where a boatful of riders were sent down a water lubricated inline, into a lake, at high speed. At right center stands a two-story pavilion which appears to be a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the plaza. Continuing to the left is an attraction called scenic river followed by what looks like an early roller coaster known as a Switchback. The figure “8” on the front sign indicates infinity, which might be the name of the ride that is not readable. The early coaster is followed by a rather large carousel pavilion, and on the left side of the ‘Big Wheel’, so to speak, is an attraction called ‘A Trip To Rockaway’. In the center of the plaza is a pool of the circular type with a globe type of construction in the center. It gives me the impression of being a fountain which looked like a weeping willow tree when the water was spraying out. No doubt there were colored light involved with this display at the park. But what has Rockaway to do with this amusement? Was there a Rockaway in Ohio State? Did the water come from the Cayahuga River near Cleveland, Ohio? Was the trip to Rockaway attraction a nice miniature railway ride? Was the scenic river attraction a boat ride through the scenery filled buildings? Can anyone in Waveland solve this mystery?
