     When Rockaway photographer Phillip Nybo took this picture of Jamaica Bay from atop Seaside’s giant water ride, Shoot the Chutes, I wonder if he ever though he was preserving history. During 1901, Nybo took a series of photographs around Rockaway, and published a picture book the following year.
