Laurence Pump Corporation Major Girls Softball’s team car sponsored by owner Rich Resner.
The Rockaway Little Major Girls softball game of 6/11/2005 pitted Caiazzo Plumbing against Laurence Pump for an early Saturday morning game. The girls of Laurence Pump arrived at the game somewhat nervous, as three experienced players; Annette Scotto, Erin Tacopina and Taylor Conroy, were excused for A.A.U. basketball in Connecticut. The girls realized they would have to pick up the slack and give it their all.

Catherine Murphy pitched a terrific game, with strikeouts and fielding, holding Caiazzo to three runs. Pauline O’Shea gave it gave it 100% as catcher, holding Caiazoo to a minimum of stolen bases and putting four out at home plate. Lauren Houck proved her stuff at first, accounting for multiple outs as Mary Ameruso backed her up from her position in right by holding the runners.

Frances Amodeo at second base, Kyra Meli at shortstop and Becky Resner at third base rounded out the infield, each with multiple outs working closely with one another. Judith Wanderer, Kristen Lonnborg and Brittany Lonnborg covered the outfield like a blanket preventing any ball from getting through.

All of The Laurence team fired up the bats pushing in runs and crossing home plate for a decisive 11-3 win, holding their first place ranking into the playoffs. The Laurence Pump Corp. team has proved themselves once more to be a “team of heart!
