Cops Seize Coke, Heroin, Pot In Hammels Bust
Officers from the 100 Precinct served a search warrant at 82-03 Beach Channel Drive, Apt. 1A, and recovered more than three ounces of crack and smaller quantities of heroin and marijuana, police said. They estimated the street value of their take at more than $10,000. Three digital scales and packaging materials were also recovered from the apartment, police said. Officers arrested Shamar Robinson, 20, Darryl Leggert, 42, Eula Barnes, 56, and Latarcha Barnes, 36, who were inside the apartment at the time of the bust. Barnes’ 2-year-old daughter was also inside the apartment, according to court records. The four defendants are charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a spokesperson for Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown. Robinson, Leggert and Latarcha Barnes were each held without bail at their arraignment on June 22. Bail was set at $50,000 for Eula Barnes, who was arraigned the same day. All four are due back in Queens Criminal Court on July 6.
