Locals Graduate From St. Saviour

Commencement exercises were held at St. Saviour Church on June 3. Seventy percent of the graduating class of 82 students received $3.8 million in scholarship/merit awards. Margaret Bernstein, assistant principal, presented the graduates.

Diplomas were conferred by Sister Valeria Belanger SSND, principal, and Reverend Daniel Murphy, pastor of St. Saviour Parish, blessed each student.

Breezy Point resident, Deirdre Beirne, president of Campus Ministry, gave the Invocation. The Valedictorian was Elaine Labate of Bay Ridge and the Salutatorian was Jennie Rota of Carroll Gardens. Patricia Malloy, class of 1987, Assistant District Attorney in Queens, gave the commencement address.

Malloy is the aunt of Megan Rose Gallagher’05 who is the fourth generation of women in her family to attend St. Saviour H.S.

Gallagher was preceded by her great grandmother, her grandmother, and her aunt. Patricia Malloy will marry John Dalton, Breezy Point, in the fall.
