Far Rockaway Woman Shot In Both Legs
By Howard Schwach

A Far Rockaway woman is wanted by police after shooting another woman in both legs and fleeing the scene in a livery cab.

Police sources say that units from the 101 Precinct responding to a call of “shots fired” at Mott Avenue and Beach 21 Street found no complainant. Another unit checking local hospitals, however, found Belinda Davis, 35 at the St. John’s Episcopal Hospital emergency room with gunshot to both legs.

Davis told police that she had been shot twice in front of 10-87 Beach 21 Street by a woman known to her at Delores Hernandez, who also lived in Far Rockaway.

Davis said that after shooting her, Hernandez got away in a black livery cab.

Several spent shells were found at the Beach 21 Street crime scene and police were called in to search for Hernandez and the cab.

Hernandez is being sought for assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
