Bellamy Earns Several Awards For Essay

M.S. 53 student Jeffrey Bellamy has been honored for his participation in an essay contest sponsored by the Women’s Industrial Service League. His essay, “The Value of Education for the African-American Community”, was selected by the league and earned Bellamy a $500 scholarship.

He and his parents were also honored with a dinner ceremony at Antun’s in Queens Village.

In addition to his scholarship, Bellamy received a Congressional Achievement Award from Congressman Gregory Meeks, a Certificate of Congratulations from New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and an award from Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home for scholarship, citizenship and leadership.
