No Garbage Collection On Monday, January 2

The Department of Sanitation has announced that there will be no garbage or recycling collection, or street cleaning on Monday, January 2, 2006 in observance of the New Year holiday.

Residents who receive Monday garbage and recycling collection should place both materials out at curbside Monday evening after 5 p.m. for pickup on Tuesday, January 3.

All Sanitation Department administrative offices will also be closed on Monday, January 2.

Residences and commercial establishments that unlawfully leave trash, recyclables, or dumpsters at curbside over the holiday are subject to a fine of up to $250.
