Hillary Pickets At 100 Precinct Stationhouse

Arverne resident Barbara Hillary formed a one-woman picket line in front of the 100 Precinct stationhouse last Wednesday afternoon to protest what she calls the NYPD’s “indifferent and cavalier” approach to quality of life issues in her community. Hillary said she was forced to take it to the street after she “exhausted all other avenues,” but police say they have been working with her on a variety of issues. “The truth is we’ve done so much for her,” said Police Officer Peter Griffith of the precinct’s Community Affairs Unit. Griffith said Hillary became “a friend of the precinct” through her community involvement but, he added, that doesn’t mean the precinct can “over-cater” to her. “We can’t write 100 summonses every time she complains.” Griffith said.
