Geraldine Anderson New York Telephone Operator

  • Geraldine Anderson, a Rockaway resident for more than 30 years, died November 21. She was 69.
  • Anderson, a New York telephone operator, was born on March 28, 1936 in Harlem.

    She is survived by her daughters, Adele G. Anderson and Rhoda J. Anderson; sons, Phillip D. Anderson, Riccardo L. Anderson and Shaun W. Anderson; daughters-in-law, Sherry Stickney, Charice Anderson and Roslyn Harris; aunts, Helen Jackson, Mae Hogan, Jeannette Webb and Yolanda Parker; grandchildren, Phillip D. Anderson, Jr., Dytwan L. Anderson, Tamika Anderson, Curtis Anderson, Preston Anderson, Geraldine P. “Sooky” Guillory, Nyshera Anderson, Artelia Smith, Shaun Anderson, Cutessann Anderson, Rhoda Anderson, Kristina Anderson, Shanice Anderson and Shymiek Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Jakari Jupree Anderson, Shakaria Anderson, and Taniya Anderson; and many family and friends.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home with a service at Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Friendship Chapel. Internment was at All Saints Cemetery in Great Neck, New York.

    Clarence Thomas Collins

    Kosher Chef

    Clarence Thomas Collins, a Rockaway resident for over 40 years, died November 24. He was 67.

    Collins, a kosher chef, was born on July 11, 1938 in Durham, North Carolina. He served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed at the Fort Dix Army Base in New Jersey. He was a member of the Hillside High School Glee Club and other groups at the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Collins was a member of the singing group The Four Guys Orchestra and the male chorus of Macedonia Baptist Church. He ministered with the praise team at Gaffney’s Funeral Home and recorded a CD entitled “I’m Free.”

    Collins was preceded in death by his wife, Rosilie Young; parents, Nathaniel and Annie Mae; and cousin, Minnie Mae.

    He is survived by his children, Cheryl Mona Collins-Huffins (Christopher), Quinthony Nathaniel Collins (Sabrina) and Crystal Yolanda Carter (Sherman); grandchildren, Frederick, Shyangela, Quinthony Jr., Quarell and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Tylor Zierre and Ziarra Nyomi-Rose; seven sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and many relatives and friends.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home. Visitation and a service were held at Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment was at Calverton National in Calverton, New York.

    Adrienne Nelson-Daily

    Adrienne Nelson-Daily, a Rockaway resident for over 20 years, died November 19. She was 51.

    Nelson-Daily, an office manager, was born on August 25, 1954 in Brooklyn.

    She is survived by her husband, Ernest Daily; daughter, Angelic I. Daily; sister, Patricia Nelson; nephew, Steven Nelson; stepdaughters, Leslie, Frances, Donna and Pamela; ten step-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; special friend for almost 40 years, Dorothy Obaigbena; and many relatives and friends.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home with visitation and a service at Gaffney’s Friendship Chapel. Interment was at Washington Memorial Park in Coram, New York.

    Robert F. Dwyer

    Retired Commercial Artist

    Robert F. Dwyer, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died November 27.

    Dwyer, a retired commercial artist, was born in Brooklyn. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the 1950s and 1960s, and was a sexton at St. Thomas More Church.

    He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hanlon Dwyer; son, Robert G. Dwyer (Dawn); daughters, Karen Pallini (Michael) and Christine Brennan (John); and grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Lauren, Ryan, Liam, Hannah and Aidan.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church in Rockaway Point. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.

    Ann Mullins

    Ann Mullins, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died November 30.

    Mullins, a clerk, was born in Hoboken, New Jersey.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mullins; and her sister, Dorothy O’Herron.

    Mullins is survived by her son, William Molloy; daughter, Dorothy Robinson; and eight grandchildren.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 2, 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery in Pinelawn, New York.

    Reana Murdaugh

    Administrative Aide

    To The NYPD

    Reana Murdaugh, a Rockaway resident for 15 years, died November 25.

    Murdaugh, an administrative aide to the NYPD, was born in Brooklyn.

    She was preceded in death by her mother, Orile Gadson.

    Murdaugh is survived by her father, Ben Gadson; children, Michael, Warren A. Sean, and Jarrett and Chloe Murdaugh; brothers, Ron Washington and Ortis Jackson; sister, Inell Golson; eleven nieces; and nine nephews.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 10 a.m. to 12 noon when a service will be held. Interment will be held at Forest Green Cemetery in Morganville, New Jersey.
