Elections for RAA board members and for president and secretary of the board will take place at the general meeting, Monday, December 12 in building T-149 in Fort Tilden at 7:30 p.m. Only current RAA members (dues paid) are eligible to vote. The 2005 RAA Holiday Party will follow. There will also be a raffle of special and unusual artwork.

Contact the RAA office if you wish to participate and/or display artwork at this meeting. Fun, great food, the warmth of being surrounded by fellow artists and art lovers – all a part of this annual year-ending celebration. And (trumpet salute, please) The Annual Grab Bag. Yes, friends. Did last holiday season bring you a not-so-appreciated white elephant? Literally? Does your third cousin’s sister-in-law’s wedding gift to you given in 1966 no longer hold the same charm?

Well, the solution is here.

Box it, wrap it, make it look pretty and bring it to the grab bag table at the RAA Holiday Party. Your dreck could become someone else’s treasure. Place your package on the table and exchange it for another’s. Who knows what wonderful surprise is in store for you?

Call to artists: A Primary Exhibition, a juried exhibition of artworks that are created with a limited palette. Paintings in oil, acrylic, pastel, colored pencil, watercolor and other painting mediums will be considered.

Deadline for receipt of entries: December 20, 2005.

Show dates: February 4-February 26, 2006.

Go to www.rockawayartistsallia nce. org for full prospectus and entry form or contact the RAA office.

Celtic Christmas Festival: On Saturday, December 10 at Alex Grey’s Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM), the wonderful Celeste Ray and her Celtic Legend Ensemble and the musical group Blue Knight will perform with Irish Step Dancer Amanda Vorheis and Irish Storyteller, Imelda O’Reilly. This promises to be a very special Christmas event, not to be missed.
