Peninsula Hospital To Host Blood Drive
Peninsula Hospital Center will host a blood drive on Monday, November 28, from 7 am to 6 pm. The blood drive is being held in conjunction with Long Island Blood Services and New York Blood Center.
Eligible donors should be in good health, with a minimum weight of 110 pounds, and be between the ages of 17 to 75, although older persons may donate blood with their doctor’s written permission. In the past some who have wanted to donate have been turned away because of certain medications they were taking, or due to other special circumstances. However, some of the rules have changed and been updated, and those wishing to donate who might have questions regarding their eligibility are asked to call 1-800-933-2566.
The PHC Blood Drive will be held in the Meditation Room at The Peninsula Center For Extended Care and Rehabilitation, which located directly adjacent to the hospital center. Those who donate blood during the drive will be issued a voucher for lunch in the cafeteria.
