Police Eye Black-On-White Attack

Police are investigating a possible bias incident in Rockaway Beach after a white teenage girl said she was assaulted by at least two black teenage girls, The Wave has learned.

The victim, 15, and a white female friend, 15, told police they were entering the garage area of the Bay Towers apartment building at 320 Beach 100 Street on October 28 when a group of unknown black girls attacked one of them, police said. “Let’s get the white bitch,” the victim and her witness said they heard one of the attackers say, according to police.

The victim, who lives in Rockaway, was punched and kicked in her face and legs. She suffered scratches and bruises in the attack. Her witness, who lives in Broad Channel, was unharmed, as were two other friends who were present. Police did not release their names.

The incident was reported to the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force, and the investigation is ongoing.
