‘Flatbush Avenue’ Lighting For Beach 116 Street

New decorative street lighting, called “Flatbush Avenue” lighting because it was first used in New York City on that avenue, is being installed along Beach 116 Street as part of the shopping street’s new parking plan. In addition, a number of trees have been retained on the new, thinner median strips. The redevelopment program, which will be completed by Thanksgiving, will incorporate the Muni-meter system that is already familiar to motorists who use the street and will allow for parallel parking on both sides of the street as well as on both side of the median.
