BCAC Peanut Shamrocks Play Well Once Again
The BCAC Peanut Shamrocks played host to Plainview this past Sunday in Broad Channel. The Shamrocks won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball.
On the 3rd play from scrimmage, Theo Stathis ran 25 yards on a power sweep with tremendous blocks by Kieran Mills, Brian Feimer, Patrick Minihane, Justin Carricato, Jake Murphy, Matt Ostrander and Charlie Bostwick. On the next play Michael Mure ran up the middle, breaking several tackles on a 33 yard run to the 2 yard line. Michael was a little under the weather but showed up ready to play, he told his Mom and Dad “I don’t want to let my team down”. What a gamer!!! On 1st and goal from the 2 yard line, Patrick Minihane went up the middle to the 1 yard line, setting up Charlie Bostwick’s 1st TD of the season on a 1 yard sweep.
On the Shamrocks 2nd possession, the Jordan Jessup show began on the 40 yard line. Jordan had a big run on a 4th and 9 of 40 yards to the 15 yard line. On 2nd and 10, Jordan took a handoff and ran for his 4th TD of the season on a 15 yard sweep.
The defense played an excellent game, making key tackles and filling many running lanes. Steven Kenny, Liam Malsy, Tristen Dougherty, Matt Ostrander, Luke Hanning, and Sal Morello were solid on the line, LB’s Jordan Jessup, Michael Mure, Danny Hoff, Theo Stathis and Richard Wood stopped several big runs. On 1st and goal from the Shamrocks own 1 yard line, the defense held Plainview on 4 straight plays; it was the best series from the defense all season.
Late in the 4th Quarter, the running attack started to heat up again. Richard Wood, Kieran Mills, Tristen Dougherty and Brian Feimer were all solid holding onto the football. Once again the stands were full with family and friends supporting us and cheering on as our Shamrocks played their little hearts out.
