MS 53 Holds Parent And Student Orientation
Principal Monereau greeted everyone, explained his vision for this year in detail, and noted that this was his second year at the school. He outlined all the positive changes at MS 53.
Among the changes are advances in structure and discipline, and many improvements were made in the building, including the painting of the entire school interior for the first time in 30 years. Leaking skylights were repaired, and the building is more functional.
At the orientation, all parents received informative packets that contained requirements and standards for English, Social Studies, Math and Science for the three grades. Assistant Principal Diane Ludvigsen spoke of special programs that include Saturday School and After School Academic Intervention, which will begin on October 18. Principal Monereau and the staff of MS 53 look forward to the school year and the development of student’s progress.
