During Fashion Week, New York’s most beautiful models strutted down the ramps in delicious sherbet colors of lime, raspberry, banana and tomato. The colors and other things just jumped out at you. Come this spring the fashions reveal more than you want or expect. More than a “Peek A Boob.”

At the D&D (Decoration and Design) building, a benefit was held for the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House in honor of the building’s 40th Anniversary and facelift. Charles S. Cohen was the honored guest, having contributed large sums of money to both projects. It was a lovely function with the Alex Donner orchestra, and cuisine by Jamie Drake. Celebrity photographer Patrick McMullen was on hand to the shutter pleasure of all.

At the Kimberly Luxury Hotel, the Penthouse welcomed guests with live harpist music that was so soothing while sipping cocktails. This event was to show off the newly renovated suites. But they were more beautiful in person than on the video screens around the room. We were trapped in these very pleasant surroundings, while a bomb scare was being investigated.

At the Canon Expo, I met Leo Fox, whom I interviewed a few days later on TV. He brought the latest innovative cameras for all to see. They have a hand held video camera that operates as well as a professional camera, and a printout machine (NO NEED FOR A COMPUTER) that prints professional pictures for $149.

The 60th Anniversary of Indonesian independence, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Asia Society were celebrated at the Pierre Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, with a sit down dinner for their guests of international-focused investors, executives, financial professionals and journalists. Margaret Sullivan, President of the Asia Society; Jerome Kerney, VP of Merrill Lynch; and Exxon Mobil were present. Former NYC Mayor Edward Koch informed everyone of his dedication and commitment to helping the tsunami victims. His Excellency Susilo Bambang Yudhoyone thanked the people of New York and the United States of America for their great support during their disaster.

The Eclipse World at the Roosevelt Hotel featured more than 50 classes and tutorials for enterprising IT professionals using Eclipse tools and technologies. Eclipse is now an independent body that will drive the platforms evolution to benefit the providers of software development offerings and end users.

At Tavern on the Green, prior to the finals weekend of the Open Championships, tennis greats, current superstars, celebrities and dignitaries came together to honor this year’s Hall of Famers; Butch Buchholz, Jim Couries, Yannick Noah, and J. Novotana.

Sorry to hear Barbara Morris has retired from real estate. Barbara’s a great lady and I wish her well in future endeavors. I ran into Eileen O’Shea Perpinka from Rockaway, and George while I was meandering through the Luxury Travel Show at the Javits Center. He ran the six-mile race in Newport, Rhode Island.
