Up From The Ashes, Assisting Katrina Victims

The Rochelle family lives in a newly-built home that stands on the corner of Beach 131 Street and Newport Avenue, where American Airlines Flight 587 crashed, killing five local residents on the ground and destroying a number of homes. This week, a number of local children used the home as a venue for selling shells to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. On Friday, cars continually stopped at the home to donate to the victims. The money raised will be turned over to St. Francis de Sales Church as part of their fundraising effort.
