Center Hands Out Baseball Honors

from page 93

Field in Brooklyn. The Dodgers, coached by Ray, represented Queens in the Bantam Division and lost to the Brooklyn representative, St. John’s Recreational Center, in a tough battle. Though the season ended, Coach Ray is proud of the way his team played all season.

In the 13-15 year old division, the Dodgers, coached by Stan Brown, was defeated in the citywide playoffs by Sunset Park, in a nailbiter last Saturday. The Dodgers had their chances but could not overcome the stellar play displayed by Sunset Park. The result may have been disappointing but it does not overshadow a successful season for the playoff bound Dodgers.

Special thanks go to Mr. Bernard Robinson, Sorrentino Center Manager, Stan Brown, Program Director, Ray Desmarets, baseball coordinator, Umpire Kyreem (aka K), Danielle Goldfarb and Chaleene Nash, photographers. Parents, friends and the Far Rockaway community should be congratulated for supporting and traveling their children throughout the whole campaign. Players, coaches and staff should be commended for showing great sportsmanship and team spirit, which resulted in no incidents in the regular season and the playoffs. Thanks also to the Wave for highlighting the children’s pride and enjoyment of the little league every week.
