A Boatload Of Beautification On B. 123 St.

Residents of Beach 123 Street recently beautified the southern end of their block by cleaning it up and adding a colorful nautical theme, including a 14-foot sailboat. The area – protected by a white picket fence – also features an anchor, small lighthouse, driftwood, dock lines and bumpers, a fishing reel, seashells and more. Barbara and Patrick Cilla, who spearheaded the project after being inspired by a garden on Beach 118 Street, found most of the items at Ebb Tide Marina. “We have such beautiful homes. We wanted to look at something nice,” the Cilla’s said. “We want to thank Jamie, Bobby, Brian and John, they are neighbors who helped to get the project started by doing the major cleanup,” they added. “We also want to thank the neighbors who gave donations for this to happen, and a special thanks to Craig and George at Ebb Tide.” Photo: Barbara Cilla holds daughter, Gianna, near the new nautical garden.
