Tournament Held In Loving Memory Of Murdered ‘Poppa’

A community basketball summer league took place between the months of June and August in memory of “Poppa,” a young man from the Rockaway community that was murdered. The league’s championship tournament game took place in the Hammels Playground this past weekend.

Thanks go to the NYPD, Parks Department, Leon Davis, Mike Mitchell, Curtis Williams and the Hammels Community Center for their support and help this summer.
