Rockaway Republicans To Meet In Bayswater

The next meeting of the Rockaway Republicans is scheduled for August 30 at 8 p.m. in Far Rockaway at the Young Israel of Bayswater and Wavecrest, 2716 Healy Avenue. Founded in 2004, the Rockaway Republicans have been regularly meeting at the Belle Harbor Yacht Club. They’ve also held a number of meetings elsewhere on the peninsula, including Breezy Point, to enable greater community access.

The scheduled meeting in Far Rockaway is part of this continuing effort to bring all residents of the peninsula together. All registered Republicans, or those interested in becoming a registered Republican who are also Rockaway residents are invited to participate. The Far Rockaway meeting will include discussions about the current race for the district leadership in the 23 rd AD, as well as questions affecting the Far Rockaway area.

Scheduled speakers include Eric Ulrich and Rosemary Duffy, who are running to unseat the incumbent district leaders in the 23 AD, and Phil Sica, Republican candidate for Queens Borough President. The meeting is being hosted by Ed Raskin, president of the Bayswater Civic Association, a local attorney and one of the founding members of the Rockaway Republicans.
