Kosher Hot Dogs To Aid Parochial Education

For grocery shoppers in the Five Towns and Rockaway, a trip to the

supermarket will do more than just restock the kitchen pantry, it will benefit a local Jewish day school.

Abeles & Heymann Gourmet Kosher Provisions has introduced a year-long initiative designed to give back to their community schools.  The program, “A & H for ABCs”, donates to the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR) Parent Teacher Association (PTA) a portion of the profits of every A & H product sold at local supermarkets.

“As a member of the community, I am appreciative of the support and patronage they have shown to A & H over the years,” said HAFTR parent

and A & H co-president Seth Leavitt, “and A & H for ABCs is designed to give something back.”

A & H hopes that the simplicity of this path-breaking program, where no enrollment or coupon cutting is required, will attract other businesses to join A & H in raising funds for their schools and community institutions.

“We are excited about the rollout of A & H for ABCs,” said David Flamholz, A & H co-president. “We believe the program will be a huge success and a model for other schools and communities.”

“As the beneficiary of the A & H for ABCs program, HAFTR PTA is thrilled to be receiving the much-needed support, as we rely on donations to implement our programs. We are grateful to A & H for initiating this program,” remarkedSusan Kaye, HAFTR PTA President.  “It is wonderful when local businesses involve themselves in the community.  HAFTR students will benefit in many ways from the money raised by A & H.”
