Victor M. Comulada Jr. Chef
Comulada, a chef, was born in New York City on March 27, 1924. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his daughters, Victoria Squires and Valdette Eva Comulada; son, Victor M. Comulada III; three grandchildren, Patricia Goodman, Maryann Squires and Michael Squires Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Victoria Marengo.
Funeral services were kept private.
Jeremiah T. Fritz
Jeremiah T. Fritz, a former resident of Rockaway, died July 20. He was 77.
Fritz, a retired custodial worker for Chase Manhattan Bank, was born in Brooklyn on May 26, 1928. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gertrude; sons, Dennis, Thomas, James (Kathy), William and John; daughters, Eileen Roberts (Frank), Therese Kelly (Michael) and Patricia Cosmai (Mike); grandchildren, Christopher, James and Katie Fritz, Timothy and Caitlin Roberts, Jaclyn, Veronica and Grace Kelly and Matthew and Christopher Cosmai.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Palm Funeral Home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Interment was at Palm Valley View Cemetery.
Dewey “John” Hillman
Department of Buildings Chief
Dewey “John” Hillman, a former resident of Rockaway, died last week. He was 64.
Hillman, a retired chief of the Boiler Division of the New York City Department of Buildings, would have turned 65 on August 15. His family said he was a golf enthusiast.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Nancy (nee Holgerson); children, Virginia and Kenneth; brothers, Dale Larson and William; sisters, Barbarlou Kirk, Janet O’Hare, Helen Magill, Judith Kollmer, Sandra Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lloyd Funeral Home in Bayside, Queens. A funeral service was celebrated at the Lloyd Funeral Home.
Robert Smith, a Rockaway resident for 20 years, died August 5. He was 39.
Smith, an ironworker for Local 40, was born on December 21, 1965 in Brooklyn.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie Smith; brother William Smith; and sister-in-law Eve Smith.
Funeral services were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home.
