The 16th Annual George Levandoski Memorial Roxbury Run took place on Saturday, July 30th. Brian Baumann was the overall winner (7:57) with Justin Sheridan following (8:03), Mike Bach, Kim Barile, and Scott Neibel rounding out the top five runners. The age group winners were: Men 50+ - Terry Donohoe, 45+ - Edward Kurosz, 40+ - Scott Neibel, 15+ - Brian Baumann, 13-15 Justin Sheridan and 10-13 om Stewart. For the Women 13-15 Kim Barile, and 10-13 Katelyn Barile. The party that followed was a great time as always with music by Mike (the notorious M.I.K.E.) Wheeler. The proceeds as always from the Run and party were donated to the Roxbury Little League and the Girls Softball League. Special thanks to all those that helped with the setup and the cleanup: Joe Mangan, Bill Reid, Tom McEnroe, John Barile, Jim Morgan, Jocko Sweeney, and Steven Wolf. Thanks to Cliff Riis for the use of the Kingsmen tap and to Mary and Con-Eddie Curry for the electric.
Congratulations to John Lindsey who was voted in on August 2nd as the newest person from Roxbury on the Board of Directors replacing Tommy Bach. He had the most votes of any of the other candidates with a count of 839 .
The current mayor, John Mangan’s days are numbered as the 2005 Mayor’s Race has begun. Vote #1 Matt Monahan and Vote #2 Terrence Naus are this year’s candidates.
Congratulations to Tara and Rusty Riis and Big Sister’s Kaylene and Devon on the birth of their third daughter and new sister Fallon Olivia Riis on August 9th weighing 7 lbs. Best of Luck with your growing girls.
