White Castle Arm Wrestling At 116
Hundreds of men and women will be flexing their muscles in order to qualify for the year-end Empire State Wrestling Finals. The New York Arm Wrestling Association is having their 28th Annual White Castle ‘Queensboro’ Arm Wrestling Championships on Sunday, August 14 on the boardwalk at 116th street and Rockaway Beach. Registration and weigh-in beings at 10 a.m., start time is 12:30 p.m. and final matches start at 3 p.m.
The entry fee is $10 for NYAWA members and $15 for non-members but admission is free.
The competition will feature weight classes for both men and women and awards will be given for first, second, and third place. Winners are invited to the Empire State Finals on November 17, 2005 at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Gene Camp, Founder and President of the 28-year-old New York Arm Wrestling Association said, “Arm wrestling provides a sport for anyone who wants to compete one-on-one in his or her own weight class and an opportunity to practice technique, hand strength and bragging rights.”
The competition is being sponsored by White Castle.
