Gateway Hosts ‘Healthy Parks – Healthy Living’
This summer Gateway National Recreation Area is participating in the “Healthy Parks-Healthy Living” program with support from Lipton ® Tea and the National Park Foundation. A program of the National Park Service, Healthy Parks-Healthy Living is designed to highlight the vitality, wellness and recreation benefits inherent in National Parks.
As part of its Healthy Parks-Healthy Living program, Gateway will be offering a recreational workshop every week during the summer.
This week, one of the featured activities is the “Yoga on the Beach” Series which is held every Tuesday from now through the end of August at 9:30 a.m. Those interested in participating in the Yoga should meet at the Fort Tilden Visitor Center.
Gateway officials urge local residents to stay tuned for more details about the park service’s upcoming Healthy Parks-Healthy Living recreational workshops, including a Tennis Clinic at Frank Charles Park in Howard Beach on Saturday, August 6, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon.
