    She is survived by her brothers, Winston and Fidelis; sisters, Maureen and Olive; sister-in-laws, Moreen and Eileen; brother-in-laws, Eric and Alfonso; nieces and nephews, Wayne, Amanda, Susan, Gale, Samantha, Shireen, Fazeena, Bibi, Selina and Sabrina; great-nieces, Lisa and Masasha; great-nephews, Tony, Christopher, Nicholas and Gregory; and other family members and friends.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home with visitation at Gaffney’s Friendship Chapel. Interment was at Lapentier Cemetery in Georgetown, Guyana.

    Erika Leigh Dianne Darby, 18

    Student

    Erika Leigh Dianne Darby, a resident of Rockaway, died July 22.

    Darby, a student, was born in Far Rockaway on January 30, 1987.

    She is survived by her parents, Thomas T. Darby III and Blanca Perez; sisters Jessie and Keisha ; brother, Thomas T. Darby Jr.; brother-in-laws, Robert and Kevin; nephews, Marc, Matteo and TaShawn; friend, Jason Ramos; and other family members and friends.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home. Visitation was at the Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Friendship Chapel. A funeral service was celebrated at Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Friendship Chapel. Disposition was at Oxford Hills Crematory.

    The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, North Shore Hospital, Baby Hospital, Renal Unit and Dr. Siegel, Jackie, Dr. Nash, Nancy, Dr. Samstein and the medical staff that watched over little “Cookie.”

    Naomi Louise Duzant, 70

    Nutritionist

    Naomi Louise Duzant, a resident of Rockaway for more than 45 years, died July 13. She was 70.

    Duzant, a nutritionist, was born in Brooklyn on November 8, 1934. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

    She is survived by her brothers, Edward and Sidney; and many nieces and nephews.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home. Visitation was at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where a funeral service was celebrated. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery.

    Carlos Feria, 22

    Carpenter

    Carlos Feria, a resident of Rockaway for four years, died July 19.

    Feria, a carpenter, was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on January 22, 1983.

    He is survived by his parents, Dario and Carmen Feria; and brothers, Dario Jr., Francisco and Richie.

    “Carlos was a living angel on Earth and will be missed very much by friends and countless family members,” his family said.

    Sygna Ulita Johnny, 63

    Home Attendant

    Sygna Ulita Johnny, a Rockaway resident for more than 20 years, died July 8.

    Johnny, a home attendant, was born in Plantation Cottage, Guyana on September 3, 1941.

    Johnny was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Euston Butts, and daughter, Sheahan.

    Roberto Roig, a Rockaway resident for 30 years, died July 21.

    Roig, a restaurant proprietor, was born in Puerto Rico on May 25, 1937.

    He is survived by his wife, Mariella; son, Roberto; daughter, Daisy; brothers, Herman and Ramon; sisters, Maria L. Vega, Miriam Bayanilla, and Idalian Roig; and three grandchildren.

    Franklin Lloyd Singh, 62

    Franklin Lloyd Singh, a resident of Rockaway for 20 years, died July 22.

    Singh, an auto mechanic, was born in Clarendon, Jamaica on November 25, 1942. He was a member of Trinity St. John Church in Hewlett.

    Singh was preceded in death by his parents.

    He is survived by his wife, Angela; son, Shaun Singh; brothers, Harry, Lionel, Rudolph, Gerald and George Singh; sisters, Veronia Maragh and Jean Mclymont; and other family members and friends.

    Denis J. Sullivan, a fulltime Rockaway resident since 1990, died July 20.

    Sullivan, a postal worker, was born in Manhattan on November 21, 1937.

    He is survived by his cousin, Sheila Velez.

    Ronald M. Veney Sr., a Rockaway resident for 25 years, died July 21. Veney, an entrepreneur, was born in Jamaica, Queens on January 31, 1950. He was a former Jamaica Bus Company mechanic.

    Veney was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor Veney and Robert Brown.

    Virgo is survived by his wife, Wantinea; daughters, Simone Cousley and Shakira Tamika; son, Kevin Anthony Virgo Sr.; step-sons, Sherman, Brian and Victor; brothers, Edwin “King,” Patrick and Garnett; sisters, Hazel Sylvia, Thelma and Dorette; grandchildren, Shanay, Barrington, Kevin, Jr., William and Toni; step-grandchildren, D’andre, D’ante, Tyleek, Danaysha, Tanaya, Christopher and Kaylin; and other family members and friends.
