World Champions Karate Competes In AAU

World Champions Karate Center participated in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Karate Tournament in Lakeland, Florida. The AAU’s National Karate Championships is the most prestigious karate tournament in the United States and includes male and female athletes from all 50 states and Puerto Rico. This year’s competition included nearly 400 athletes.

The World Champions Karate Team included 25 of Rockaway’s finest karate athletes and garnered many gold, silver and bronze medals in Kumite (sparring), Kata (forms) and Kobudo (weapons).

The dojo was also award a Top 20 Trophy for its efforts. The team trains at World Champions Karate Center located at 112-20 Beach Channel Drive. The team is pictured, left to right, front row: Deanna Patti, John Scaccia, Samantha Scaccia, Tiyanna Ceballos and Hassan Mohammed.
