Resident Chosen for Modeling Convention
Tessa Williamson, 14, has been chosen to attend the New York Convention of the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA), which will be held July 17-23 at the New York Hilton Hotel in Manhattan.
More than three hundred young women auditioned and Williamson was among the twenty-eight selected.
The IMTA is a wonderful opportunity for those wanting to make it in the entertainment industry as agents, managers, and casting directors are there, waiting for fresh faces to emerge, according to a spokesperson for the organization.
Some of Hollywood’s hottest stars began their careers at the IMTA. Such as Katie Holmes, Ashton Kutcher and Elijah Wood.
After the IMTA convention Williamson will be a guest of The Actors and Models Dispatch in Los Angeles.
Williamson is an alumnus of P.S. 225 and August Martin High School. She currently attends St. Camillus Church along with her parents Derek and Janice Williamson; sisters Tina and Tyra; and grandparents Jose Williamson and Antoinette Busacco. Williamson is also very involved with her community, having participated in various events such as the AIDS Walk in 2004 and the Cancer Walk from 2002-2004.
“I am very excited to have been chosen to participate in the IMTA. It’s a great opportunity for me to meet new people and get new experience,” the teen said.
