Patrick Kenny Bus Operator
Kenny, who was born in Ireland, moved to Brooklyn and later to Rockaway. He worked as a bus operator for the New York City Transit Authority.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Margaret Ging Kenny; sons, Edward and John; daughters, Patricia Thomas and Ann Marie Werner; brother, John; sister, Agnes Maloney; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales on Saturday, July 2, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Middle Village.
Eugene Light, a long time Rockaway resident, died June 29.
Light, who was born in Queens, served in the Marine Corps and retired from the FDNY Ladder 59 in 1986.
He is survived by his companion, Priscilla Kennedy; son, Michael (Tara); daughters, Tracy Cunningham (Lewis), Catherine Holmes (James), Danielle Light, Jaymi Light and Sheila Light; brother, James Light; and grandchildren Thomas, Brendan, Emily, Michael and Christopher.

Robert A. McCracken
Robert A. McCracken, a retired laborer, died June 15 in Dallastown, Pennsylvania. He was 74.
McCracken was born on June 10, 1931 in Rockaway Beach and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He lived in Rockaway for more than 64 years.
McCracken was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hazel; and sister, Teresa McCracken.
He is survived by two sons, Robert (Andy) McCracken and Jimmy McCracken; four daughters, Doreen Raftery, Cathy Farrady, Rita Rubin and Ingrid McCracken Rivera; sister, Lillian Costa; brother, John McCracken; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the John H. Danner Funeral Home. A memorial service was held June 10 with Rev. John Oldfield officiating. Interment was at Indiantown Gap National VA Cemetery with full military honors.
At the family’s request, memorial contributions may be sent to the Salvation Army of the New York Cornell Hospital Burn Center.
