Set Walking Tour of Riis Park For July 4

On Monday, July 4 at 2 p.m., the National Park Service will be offering a guided walking tour of historic Jacob Riis Park, Rockaway. Participants will learn about the site’s rich history, who Jacob Riis was, and why the park was named in his honor. In addition to the site tour, there will be an opportunity to view historic photographs of this important recreation spot.

The program is free but reservations are required. The meeting location for the program will be at Jacob Riis Park’s Bay 5 First Aid Station located on the side of the newly renovated Bathhouse Pavilion. Please phone (718) 318-4300 for additional information and reservations.
