Brand New Beach Park Is Sand-tastic

Officials cut ribbon on a brand new park – right on the sand at Beach 103 Street – Thursday to the delight of a crowd of kids who immediately began to explore the colorful and unique play unit. Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer allocated the $150,000 to cover the project, which took just about a year – including about two months of construction – to complete. Pheffer said she at first thought the idea of a park on the beach was “crazy” but was convinced that it would be “innovative.” The park is surrounded by sand, which acts as the perfect a cushion for tumbling tots, she said. “It’s colorful, it’s bright, even on this dreary day we see children playing,” Pheffer cheered.Officials cut ribbon on a brand new park – right on the sand at Beach 103 Street – Thursday to the delight of a crowd of kids who immediately began to explore the colorful and unique play unit.
