RAA calls to artists:
ARTSPLASH 2005: A Multimedia Arts Event with a special section devoted to Digital Art. ARTSPLASH is RAA’s annual juried exhibition of original works, to be exhibited in sTudio 6 and sTudio 7 Galleries, outdoor stage, sculpture garden and the surrounding park at Fort Tilden, Rockaway, Queens, New York in partnership with the National Park Service/Gateway National Recreation Area. Event Eligibility: USA artists, minimum 18 years of age.
Visual artists of all media, literary and performing artists are invited to participate. Sculpture, photography, fine arts, dance, video, installations, poetry, ceramics, music, theater and performance will all be considered. Performing artist participants will form the framework of special events, both indoor and outdoor.
Digital artworks featured in the special section must be limited edition two-dimensional prints or photographs that use the computer as a primary creative tool to make the imagery.
NOT ELIGIBLE: work previously displayed in an RAA exhibition.
Deadline for receipt of entries: July 8. Exhibition dates: Sept.10-Oct.16

— Minotaur’s Maze: RAA presents a Halloween event in sTudio 7 Gallery. Concept: a maze comprised of 9ft. x 12ft. modules for display of any conceivable artwork.
Artists may design artwork for one module or may team up with other artists to share modules, and are encouraged to be physically involved in the performance/artwork.
The event will have 2 phases –
Beginning Oct.1: a work in progress in which artists’ creation of the maze becomes part of the ongoing ARTSPLASH 2005.
The actual working show (the evenings of Oct. 28-Oct. 31), in which audience members are guided through this maze to view and interact with the artwork.
Works to be considered – theme related sculpture (moving or fixed), paintings, mixed media, dance, music, performance art, film, interactive art, etc. Significant attention will be paid to production values, which include lighting, sound, special effects, etc. RAA will coordinate the individual works of art into the design of the production. Works of art will be juried by the RAA Halloween Committee.
Eligibility: Individual artists, groups, organizations, or families may submit. Artists under the age of 18 must be supervised by a guardian over the age of 18.
