Police Investigate BB Shooting

Police search a dumpster at the Hammels Houses Saturday afternoon for the BB gun that shattered the window of a NYPD patrol car on Rockaway Beach Boulevard. Witnesses directed other officers to an apartment in the complex where .380 caliber ammunition was discovered and two men were arrested. William Miller, 20, is charged with firearms ammunition charges. The Queens District Attorney’s office declined to prosecute the second man, according to a spokesperson. A female police officer was slightly injured in the incident. The BB gun was not recovered.
