Breezy Point Par Tee Golf- June 9, 2005

By Peg Ansbro

If it makes you feel better about your golf game remember the words of Billy Graham—“The only time my prayers are never answered is on the golf course.”

June 9th was a beautiful day and we had some great scores and wonderful gof.

Three ladies had two chip-in birdies: Marian Lynch, Kate Hanratty and Peg Ansbro. Seven other players had birdies: Evie McVeigh, Mary Castellano, Barbara Caramelli, Dottie Dunne, Evelyn Gannon, Mildred Seligman, and Betty Weed. And four other ladies had chip-ins: Marge O’Leary, Dottie Dunne, Mildred Seligman, and Pat Powers.

The lowest score of the day belongs to Terry Gearity with a 63. Peg Ansbro had 64, Pat Disch and Barbara Caramelli had 66, Bernice Carroll had 68 and Joan McNally and Evelyn Gannon had 69.

In the seventies were Pat Livingston (70), Mildred Seligman and Bunny GaNun (71), Kay Miller and Betty Weed (72), Vera Lynch (74), Joan Fallon (76), Evie McVeigh (77), Marge O’Leary (78), and Dottie Dunne, Bea Sharrock, Mary Bosch and Pat Powers (79). Tips from Harvey Penick: CHIPPING : Keep your hands ahead of or even with the clubhead on the follow through. All the way through.

PUTTING : with short putts, concentrate on the line. With long putts, concentrate on the distance. He likes to see your hands toward the inside of your left thigh on every shot except the driver.
