NYCHA Youth Victorious At Yale University
About twenty youth from Hammels and Redfern attended the Yale Youth Lacrosse Jamboree in New Haven, Connecticut this past Saturday as they played against arguably the country’s best 11-13 year olds. Our youth were victorious in the since that the NYCHA participants enjoyed more than just the competition. The youth had a chance to meet, greet, and socialize with scores of their peers and adults from all around the Northeast United States. It was a great trip, great competition and great fun for all. As a matter of fact the NYCHA youth did such a great job in competing and demonstrating sportsmanship that all of our participants were invited back this summer for the Connecticut Colleges Lacrosse Camp July 25 - July 29 free of charge. Very special thanks go out to all of our coaches and NYCHA Administration. Coaches Kenneth Layne (Director Hammels C.C.), Richard Washington: (CSA - Redfern C.C.), David Jones (Clinical Director Visiting Nurse Services), Coach Greg Carter (Rockaway Sports Association), Mr. John Einhorn –(Director Yale Jamboree) along with our NYCHA Administrative support from Mrs. Ukah Busgith - (Deputy Director), Mr. Ray Diaz (Program Director - Queens).
