Sex Slave In Far Rockaway Residence

Young Girl Faced Worst Nightmare
By Howard Schwach

  • A 15-year-old runaway was allegedly held against her will, raped and sodomized in a Beach 32 Street home late last month.
  • According to court records, the ordeal began when the girl ran away from home on May 13 and wound up in the Bronx.

While there, she met Karen Lockhart, 18, who, according to a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, provided sexual acts for money and made the young girl watch. Lockhart reportedly told the girl that she wanted her to do the same.

The DA says that the girl went on one “date” with a man in order to have sex, but got cold feet and the act was not consummated.

According to the allegations, Lockhart, accompanied by Larue Daniel 28, and Jean Gedeon, 20, took her to 221 Beach 32 Street on or about May 31.

Lockhart allegedly held the girl down while Daniel had sex with her against her will.

The two men told the girl that she could not leave and that they would take turns watching her to make sure she did not escape. She told police that she slept on the living room floor.

The next evening, Lockhart allegedly stripped the girl naked and held her down while Gedeon allegedly had sex with her.

Lockhart reportedly told the girl that she had to have sex with men so that “they could make some money.” They threatened that they would strip her and throw her out of the apartment, where she “would be raped” by men on the street.

Lockhart also told her that she had a gun and then punched her in the mouth, according to court records.

At some point, a third, still unidentified man came to the apartment and told her to run. Because she was naked, he gave her a jacket to wear.

She fled the house and found an occupied car on Beach 25 Street. The two men in the car gave her some clothing from a laundry bag they had in the car and called 911.

The three defendants, attempting to capture the girl, followed her and were arrested by responding police.

The girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment and observation. Her name is being withheld by law enforcement because of her age and the nature of the alleged crime.

According to a spokeswoman for the Queens DA, the three are charged with kidnapping, attempted criminal sexual act, attempted promotion of prostitution and endangering the welfare of a child. Lockhart also faces the charge of criminal sexual act.

They were indicted in Queens Criminal Court on June 3 and were all remanded to jail pending their next hearing scheduled for June 20.

They all face life in prison if they are convicted of all of the charges they face.
