Rockaway Girls Shine In Kearney Graduating Class

Eleven Rockaway residents graduated from Bishop Kearney High School on Saturday, June 4. Eight of the eleven earned scholarships.

• Courtney Calciano won the Loyola Scholarship to the University of Scranton, the Alumni Scholarship to Wagner College and the Marist College Scholarship. Calciano will attend Marist in the fall.

• Jillienne Jordan won the Fairfield Tuition Scholarship to Fairfield University, the Loyola Scholarship to Fordham University, and the Georgetown NHS Scholarship. Jordan will attend Georgetown in the fall.

• Pamela Kellar received the CUA Award to Catholic University of America, The WVU Blue and Gold Level 2 Scholarship to West Virginia University, and the Xavier Grant to the University of Scranton. Kellar plans to attend the University of Scranton.

• Christina Maiocca won the Achievement Award to Adelphi University and the Iona Scholarship to Iona College. Maiocca will attend the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the fall.

• Casey Mulligan received the Dominican College Scholarship from Dominican College, the DePrizio Scholarship from Kings College and the Special Recognition Scholarship from Hartwick College. She plans to attend Hartwick College.

• Cara O’Donnell received the University Scholarship from the Catholic University of America, the Scholastic Excellence Scholarship from St. John’s University and the Community Recognition Award from St. John’s University. O’Donnell plans to attend Tulane University in the fall.

• Catherine Purpura received the Academic Incentive Award from Long Island University and the CUNY Peter Vallone Academic Scholarship. Purpura plans to attend Hunter College.

• Ariana Starace won the Canisius College Benefactor’s Scholarship from Canisius College and the Iona Incentive Award from Iona College. She will attend SUNY Albany.

Among the other Rockaway graduates are Genevive Tyne who plans to attend the College of Mount St. Vincent, Katherine Muldoon who will attend St. Thomas Aquinas College and Casey Castellano who plans to work.
