A Health Fair with free health screenings and fun for the entire family will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2005, at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, from 12 noon until 3 pm.

The Fair will be held outdoors on Hospital grounds at Plainview Avenue and Beach 19th Street in Far Rockaway. A program will be held at 1:30 pm.

Celebrating the Hospital’s 100 anniversary, the Fair willoffer the following free health screenings: measurement of body fat percentage; blood pressure; diabetes; eyes; pulse oximetry; scoliosis screening for children; healthy feet checkups; nutrition tips; having healthy babies; Medicaid managed care enrollment; and information on mental health and Alzheimer’s disease. For free “brown bag medication” consultations, hospital pharmacists will discuss drug interactions and side effects with those who bring in their medications for review.

There will be lots of family fun. Stan’s Pepper Steppers will entertain with their step routines and mastery of double dutch. Free face painting, balloons, giveaways, refreshments, music and raffles will be on hand.

The Fair would not be possible without the generous support of Healthfirst, Pfizer and Solvay. For more information please call St. John’s Episcopal Hospital at 718-869-7750.
