Little Tots Red Wagon Students Shine
It all began with their wonderful Mothers Day Tea Party. Each child enjoyed a tea party with the special woman in their lives. They also entertained their guests with Mothers Day Video in which the children were the stars.
From there, the children were off to the Rockaway Point Volunteer Fire Department. They learned about the equipment, gear, enjoyed sitting in the fire trucks and ambulances. They were also taught what to do if they were in an emergency situation. Chief Ed Valentine, Mary and Pat Sullivan and Sean Higgins gave their time and patience for this visit.
They were then visited by Officer Mike Rosenthal and Officer Lou Brust of the 100 Precinct who taught the children about bicycle safety and also the importance of wearing seatbelts when driving in cars. This was all in preparation the our Second Annual St. Jude’s Trike-A-Thon. The children and their parents obtained sponsors to help children in need of medical care.
Last year the children raised almost $2000. This year more than $3000 was raised for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
