Won’t Use EZPass? Time For Tokens

Starting Monday, June 27, the new Rockaway/ Broad Channel Resident sticker must be affixed to the left rear passenger-side window of vehicles of customers who use resident program tokens on the Cross Bay and Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridges.

Starting this week customers using tokens with the old stickers will be given a reminder card at the toll plaza informing them of the June 27 deadline for the new sticker.

New sticker application forms were sent to customers in early February by mail. Residents must fill out and return the tear-off form at the bottom of the letter re-certifying their Rockaway or Broad Channel residency along with a photocopy of proof of Rockaway/Broad Channel residency. This can be a copy of driver’s license or a utility bill. The stickers are for the sole use of Rockaway and Broad Channel residents and are not transferable.

Rockaway/Broad Channel Sticker Applications can be obtained from the E-ZPass Customer Service Center by calling 1-800-333-TOLL (8655).

Rockaway/Broad Channel residents may purchase 12-trip token rolls in the Cash toll lanes ($1.333 per trip) for use at the Cross Bay and Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridges only.

E-ZPass is the overwhelming favorite in the Rockaways because it is faster, cheaper and more convenient. The Cross Bay Bridge toll is fully rebated for Rockaway/Broad Channel residents using E-ZPass and the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge toll is only $1.00 with E-ZPass.
