Thrilled About Our Children

In the last two issues of the Wave, there were two articles about children in PS 114 and PS 183 winning special awards at the Music Memory Program at Lincoln Center. The RMAC is thrilled and excited about these children and the awards they won, as we are the sponsor of the program. For several years, our children have participated and each year, they have come home with top honors.

Here is a list of our winners this year:

PS 183A and 183 B- first place and gold ribbons, PS 114 A- fourth place and gold ribbons, PS 42 Go Strealy-fourth place and bronze ribbons, PS 47A, Kathy Ruggiero-bronze ribbons and PS 47B, Kathy Ruggiero-bronze ribbons.

We would like to congratulate the teachers who guided the children because without them, our children would not have been as prepared as they were to again win so many awards.

From all of us at the RMAC, we say, “Well done kids, you’re the best.”

On Tuesday evening, June 21, the first day of summer, the RMAC is inviting all members to join us at the rededication of the Riis Park Bathhouse. Starting at 7 p.m., we will celebrate the opening and have a toast to summer. It will also be the start of our 2005 Sunset Picnic Concerts and we’ll tell you about our fantastic 50th Anniversary event happening on September 10. All paid members will be our guests on June 21.

If you are a non-member of the RMAC and would like to attend, there will be a $10.00 minimum donation. We will be happy to see everyone and we hope you will become a member to help us continue with the many programs that we bring to the neighborhood.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the first Sunset Picnic Concert on Sunday, June 26 at 6 p.m. when the Klez Dispensers will entertain you with rousing music to begin our season.

As the saying goes, “we could use a few good men… and women” to help us at the concerts, festival and other events we present.

An hour or two, here or there, is all that is necessary to help with our programs.

Please see one of us at the June 21 event or at one of the concerts, or call our office to let us know if you would like to help out.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Bathhouse on June 21 at 7 p.m. Parking is available in the parking lot directly in front of the bathhouse.
