Sorrentino Rec Center Pepper Steppers Jump to Victory
Stan’s Pepper Steppers, the 2004 World Double-Dutch Championship teams of Far Rockaway, placed 1st in 4 out of 7 divisions and 2nd place in the other divisions in the N.Y. State American Double-Dutch League competition.
The Pepper Steppers dazzled the audience with a breathtaking show of speed. This was performed by 5 Peppers Steppers (Laquasha Brown, Deandrea Jordan, Camilla Ensley, Dominique Harris and Cherise Bartow) who make up Stan’s high school team. These teams will advance on to the American Double Dutch League World Invitational 32nd Annual Double Dutch Championships at the University Center held in Sumter, South Carolina – June 17th & 18th, 2005.
The tournament was held at Bellport High School in Bellport, Long Island and featured teams from New York City, Nassau and Suffolk County. The Pepper Steppers team of jumpers and coaches are all from the Rockaway Peninsula.

Sorrentino Baseball Clinic
The clinic, for boys and girls from the ages of 12 and under and 13-15 will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 - 10am at Beach 17th Street – O, Donahue Park. Volunteer coaches are needed for the upcoming Sorrentino/Health Plus Little League starting in June. Sorrentino/City of NY Parks & Recreation Step Into Spring Saturday Morning Walks
Every Saturday, at 10 a.m., the Step into Spring family morning walks will begin at Sorrentino Recreation Center for a 1 – 2 mile health walk. The program provides health awareness and family fun.
