Flasher Busted Near Far Rockaway HS
A Far Rockaway man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child when he allegedly exposed himself to students walking to Far Rockaway High School early that morning.
Law enforcement sources say that police officers Ruland and Murphy from the 101 Precinct were on patrol nearby the school when they saw an Hispanic man, identified later as Curtis Hoxter, 24, of Collier Avenue in Far Rockaway, running away from school safety agent Verno Johnson.
The two officers stopped Hoxter and were told by school security that students had reported that he had been exposing himself at Beach 25 Street and Grassmare Terrace to students going to the school. The students said that Hoxter exposed his penis and asked the students, “Do you want to look at this?”
Several teen-age female students identified Hoxter as the man who had exposed himself to them, police said.
A spokesman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said that Hoxter was arraigned on Tuesday for three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and with public lewdness.
His bail was set by Judge Paynter at $500. Hoxter’s next court date was set for Friday, May 16.
