Flippers Fall Short On Senior Day To Molloy

By Shawnte Avaloy Stella Maris Student

Alexa Rosella of Stella Maris.Alexa Rosella of Stella Maris. Stella Maris varsity played against Archbishop Molloy, and it was a game that the outcome could have been better. The lost 7-4 but I agree with many that it was a good game. Stella didn’t give up without a fight and they just kept coming back one after the other, after the other. Alexa Rosella, the Stella Maris pitcher hit a double and brought Alyce Miraglia home. Again in the top of the 5th Alexa Rosella drove Jackie Rich home and Nicole Rescigno brought Alexa Rosella.

In the bottom of the 6th, the bases were loaded and again Alexa Rosella hit the ball straight down the left field line, and Alyce Miraglia scored. Stella keep their head down, they kept going, and kept their head up. The final score was Archbishop Molloy Sharks beat the Stella Maris Flippers 7-4. It wasn’t their best game, but we can definitely expect something more during the play-offs.

Last Wednesday was a sad day for varsity softball seniors because It was Senior Day. On the varsity softball team, there will be three seniors who will be surely missed: Jennifer “Jen” Seltzer who plays 1 st base, Kerrie “ Hacker “ Harrnisher who plays 2nd base, and Kristy “ Four” Forcina who plays 3rd base. Each of these seniors have been part of Stella Maris softball team since they were freshmen, and gave there best each year. They will be surely missed and were wished the best of luck by the rest of their teammates at the end of the game. Stella will be playing again at Fort Tilden on Monday, May 9, 2005 versus Christ the King, and this game is for the play-offs so come out and show some support.
