Flips, jumps and skips were all to be seen on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at

the Sorrentino Recreation Center. The recreation center was the host of the 25th Annual Rockaway Double-Dutch Championships.

With the festivities beginning at 10:00 a.m. and competition beginning at 11:00 a.m., teams from all over Rockaway and other parts of the country came out to showcase their jump rope talents. There were elementary school kids as well as high schoolers jumping and flipping as fans cheered on.

About 100 or so parents, friends and fans packed into the Sorrentino Recreation Center gym. They were treated to displays of both stern discipline and extraordinary athleticism.
