Man Slashed, Stabbed Inside Restaurant

Police are investigating a brutal stabbing in Far Rockaway last week that sent a man in his early 20s to the hospital with wounds throughout his upper body.

The 22-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was attacked inside Yover Restaurant at 13-22 Central Avenue at about 10 p.m. last Wednesday, according to police.

A source who visited the man at Jamaica Hospital described to The Wave numerous slash and stab wounds covering the man’s abdomen, back, arms and neck. Although severely injured, he was scheduled for release late this week, the source said.

Police say the attack followed a loud argument, but the victim is telling people his attackers came out of nowhere.

A female counterperson at Yover, a Spanish and American restaurant with a long service counter and a dining area in the back, could shed no light on the violence that erupted there. Sources described the restaurant as a trouble spot.

Detectives are looking for two male Hispanics in their early 20s who fled after the incident. One is about 5 feet 9 inches tall with light skin and a stocky build. The other is about 5 feet 5 inches tall with darker skin, and was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a blue jacket. Police asked anyone with information to call the 101 Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 868-3428.
